Overview‍

As a development team, we value code quality and application performance over code quantity and releasing quickly. We have a clean and mature codebase done in Ruby on Rails with data coming from Postgresql and Mysql databases. Our new features are created with React JS front end and Rails API endpoints. We focus and prioritize package updates to ensure we are up to date with the latest version of Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Gems, and Javascript packages.

Our Process

You'll be a part of a team that uses agile methodologies.

• Work starts with a YouTrack ticket and discussion over the implementation path
• Daily standups to review progress and any blocks
• Communication is available through Slack
• Feedback is given based on code reviews, paired programming, or from tests that are done in the staging environment
• There are automated code quality checks along with the continuous integration process
• Production and staging monitoring and error notification through email and Slack
  

Role

We are actively seeking a Senior Developer with full-stack web development experience specializing in Ruby on Rails applications with a React JS front end. Our ideal candidate likes clean, simple, and high-quality code. Enjoys researching, discussing, and implementing solutions to hard technical problems, while maintaining the clarity to implement simple, timely solutions.‍

Responsibilities

• Communication - Effective and timely communication with company team members and senior leadership.
• Development - Seek continual improvement of system architecture, and recommend changes and updates when and where necessary. Produce solid, thoroughly tested features that utilize industry best practices. Identify and mitigate reported bug issues in a timely manner.
• Design - Translate feature requirements into sound software designs that utilize industry best practices in UI and UX design principles.
• Mitigation - Rapid response and mitigation of production issues and bugs experienced by the customer.
• Project Scoping - Accurately plan and quote time required to develop new features, deliver the end product on time, and maintain detailed time tracking for invoicing.
• Time Management - Prioritize tasks, projects, and resources to ensure all deliverables are met. Detailed time tracking so accurate invoices can be sent to our customers.

Qualifications

• 10+ Years of relevant work experience (software engineering)
• Required programming language expertise - Ruby on Rails
• Demonstrated experience developing, deploying, and monitoring Ruby on Rails applications
• Prior experience and fluency in React JS, Javascript, HTML, CSS, PostgreSQL, Mysql, and Elasticsearch
• Experience developing multi-tenant web applications
• Demonstrated understanding of how to build and consume REST APIs
• UI and UX design experience a plus
